Seluruh keluarga kini berada disamping beliau,” tambahnya.

Ariel Sharon near death after grave deterioration in his condition
Comatose former prime minister Ariel Sharon’s condition has gravely deteriorated and he is near death, doctors said on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer said Sharon’s condition began taking a turn for the worse in recent days.
Doctors said Sharon, 85, who has been in a vegetative state since 2006, was suffering from renal failure that could lead to multiple organ system failure and death.
Hebrew media reports late Wednesday said doctors had told the family that Sharon had, at most, no more than four days to live.
“The situation now depends mainly on the family and the decisions they make,” a senior doctor at the Sheba Hospital told Walla News.
Channel 2 reported that doctors were unlikely to take drastic measures to keep him alive given his condition and age.
In September, doctors reinstalled a feeding tube in Sharon’s digestive system.
The procedure was completed without incident, and the former prime minister was returned to the hospital’s Department of Respiratory Care and Rehabilitation, where he has been in treatment in recent years.
Sharon is one of Israel’s most iconic and controversial figures.
As one of Israel’s most famous generals, Sharon was known for bold tactics and an occasional refusal to obey orders.
As a politician he became known as “the bulldozer,” a man contemptuous of his critics while also capable of getting things done.
As defense minister, he led Israel’s 1982 invasion of Lebanon, and was forced to resign the post after a commission of inquiry found him responsible for failing to prevent the massacre by Christian Phalangists of Palestinian refugees in Beirut’s Sabra and Shatilla camps ~ Times Of Israel

Sabra and Shatila Massacre Remembered

Sabra and Shatila, the names of two Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut have become the symbol of the Palestinian plight.

These camps were the scene of one of the most horrendous crimes ever.

After the Israeli invasion of most of Beirut in 1982, Israeli Defense Minister at the time Ariel Sharon moved to wipe out what he claimed some “2,000 terrorists” who were still hiding in the refugee camps of Sabra and Shatila.

The Israeli troops were tasked with totally surrounding and bombarding the camps in this very area, and the next few days, the right-wing Lebanese militia, known as the Phalangists, which was trained and armed by Israel, was given the task of clearing the camp.

Israel made sure that no civilian in the camp escapes the horrid killings that lasted for three days. Ellen Siegel a Jewish American nurse who provided humanitarian aid in a Beirut hospital during the Israeli occupation of Beirut recalls the massacre she says she can never forget:

The perpetrators have never been punished.

In 2001 a lawsuit was filed in Belgium by the survivors of the massacre and relatives of the victims, who accused Ariel Sharon of being directly involved in the massacre.

Although the case was won, US interference led to the Belgian Parliament gutting the universal jurisdiction law.

Israel’s impunity for many aggressions like its attacks on Lebanon and the Gaza strip will never lead to the so-called peace.Observers say peace begins with an end to occupation:

Kamal Maruf’s son Jamal is still missing to this day after the militia men handed him over with hundreds of young men to the Israeli army.

International sources estimated that the number of casualties was around 800; while local counts through the families of the victims say the number was more than 3000 Palestinian and Lebanese civilians killed and many missing.

After 31 years the unarmed men women and children who were slaughtered in Sabra and Shatila have not been forgotten.
